Building This Website
This site was hand-coded from scratch using HTML and CSS. It’s hosted statically and serves as a personal log for ham radio gear, project notes, and general operations. I'm doing my best to keep it up to date.

I recently (May 2025) joined my local ham club and in June 2025 I passed my Amateur Extra upgrade exam. I’m currently preparing for Field Day (June 28, 2025) by testing gear, improving operating practices, and coordinating with other members. As the primary satellite operator for our club's Field Day operations, I'm focusing on optimizing our portable satellite station setup and procedures. We expect a great turnout and a fun time!

I'm planning to set up an Amateur Radio Emergency Data Network (AREDN) node. AREDN is a high-speed, self-configuring digital network built using commercial Wi-Fi gear modified for amateur radio frequencies. It provides resilient, off-grid data communication for emergency services and public service events.

Another exciting project is exploring Meshtastic, an open-source, decentralized mesh network that uses LoRa radio technology. With my LilyGo T-Deck Plus, I'll be able to send short text messages, GPS coordinates, and other data over long distances without cellular service or internet. It's fantastic for off-grid communication and location tracking, especially in remote areas or during emergencies.
